Hi All,

I recently bought my 2012 Granturismo S Auto which I found in my dream spec. Absolutely love the car and have already done the NC500 in it and planning lots more GT trips.

I’ve had the Apple Car Play upgrade installed by Team Impulse which works great and really future proofs the car IMO.

I’ve also bought the Forza Componenti exhaust bypass valve kit which I’m gonna have at crack at fitting myself tomorrow. I’d be really interested to know if any of you’ve got this system - & especially if you’ve installed it yourself!!

The only issue I’ve had with the car is the front seats don’t automatically move back or forward when you tilt the seats to allow rear seat access, so have to use the slide adjuster on the bottom of the seat. I’ve tried the reset procedure but not had any luck yet. Any experience & tips you guys may have on this would be great to know!

Anyway here’s some pics of my car :)

Rob

Nice choice Rob. The seat reset procedure is in the manual. You have to be quick but it is easy to do. You have to do both seats individually. I could tell you but may get the process wrong so best to follow the instructions.

Edit. Oops just read that you have tried that. I would try again as I had to do it a few times. Or just rip the back seats out because apparently 2 seater are better....

Lovely looking car. What's the NC500?

Just did the seat reset this morning. This worked for me.

When I'd tried before I hadn't had the key in at the start at it didn't work.

Inverness to Inverness basically. Big circle around the Highlands. Did it with 4 other cars September last Yr. It was fabulous and needs doing again with some tweaks and some areas to avoid.. JOG is not worth it for example.

Thanks for this - I’ll give it another try tomorrow…

Here’s the NC500 website…

Fantastic roads & scenery. Actually bought the car from Edinburgh and did it straight from there… :)

Hmmmmmm..........that bridge looks oddly familiar. Verrazzano-Narrows? Accrington Viaduct? (waiting for a certain someone to pounce!)
Okay. Back the Maserati up for a moment. You've just bought an S? You live in Edinburgh? You've done the North Coast 500?
I'm searching for my Glock and dum dum rounds as we speak! ;)

Ha! Almost, 2/3… ;)

I bought the car in Edinburgh from a dealer called ADA Motors who were great and had looked after the car for previous owner (the Chairman of Celtic FC apparently!).

I actually live in London so we flew up to collect and went from there direct to the highlands to do NC500… and drove back home from there… ended up doing 1500 miles in first 5 days of ownership. Absolutely loved it and had no issues at all - such a great way to bond with your new car!! :)

A great way indeed! And a beautiful car. I did the same, flew up bought the car and drove close to 1000 miles back home, epic experience :)

I knew I was setting myself up for a fall, but couldn't resist. I used to live in Edinburgh and would move back in a second. I did a very similar road trip too in another life and will never forget the experience.
So, I completely 'get' the joy that your new car has given you and couldn't be happier for you Rob.

Its a weird life, at times. We know materialism or simple ownership doesn't make us as happy as relationships for example. Yet, I can't help grinning like an idiot, every time I turn the key and just bimble around within the speed limit. (mostly) What's weirdest of all, is that feeling hasn't diminished one iota.
Maybe there's a book in this. Zen and the art of Maserati Ownership ;)

Not Accrington... it has a stone railway bridge that spans their chappy shopping area which is full of abandoned shops... God I hate that place!

Yeh, I don't recall ever being in Accrington. Plenty of other 'burbs surrounding Manchester were depressing enough.
Each in their own special way ;)

Successfully installed the Forza exhaust bypass kit today. Works great

Went to Ramp Garage in Iver near Heathrow where you can rent a car lift by the hour - the guys there were really helpful too… would highly recommend for jobs like this. Much more satisfying to this kind of thing on your own car too plus probably saved at least £200 getting it done by someone else…

It was pretty easy to do - just needed to drill a small hole in the plastic boot well for the cable grommet and earth the control unit.

Forgot to take photos while I was doing it but will take some and post them up tomorrow :)
