Evening all,

Been lurking for a while from before I bought my Gransport in May. Have had TVRs in the past and still have precat Griffith so pretty used to cars with 'character' but with three kids wanted something I could take them out in. Had gone back and forth about buying (another) Cerbera but figured it was time for something different.

Car on the day of purchase (the first of many visits to the petrol station since then) - took 5 minutes to work out how to open the fuel flap!

And on getting home:

Got what I thought was a pretty good deal (although prices seem to have softened even further since!) but knew it had a couple of things needed, including paint laquer peel on the front wing (which you can see if you zoom in).

Didn't know about the sagging headlining until the drive home though!

Since purchase has had a couple trips to Matthew and Sharon at Giallo for a service, rust proofing and a couple of bits - been impressed by the service.

Had the front wing sorted by a small paintshop in Heathfield (http://www.rfmcoachworks.co.uk/) - a bit out of the way but nice people and they've done a really lovely job.

Headlining I've had done at Cartrim in Haywards Heath (no website but searchable via Google). I spoke to the guys in Edenbridge who'd been recommended here but they weren't keen to refit the leather and suggested to replace it with a different material. I was very keen to keep it original so chatted to Phill at Cartrim and although it was a bit more expensive than had been quoted on here, he's done a great job, including matching and adding a piece to account for some shrinkage.

I'm hoping (probably naively) that I'll have few months without too many big bills now.......

Impressions from the first six months? Really like it - a real event to drive. Suspension's pretty stiff and the gearbox isn't great at low speed but in some ways is quite fun to try to learn to do well. The engine's awesome though and I think it's brilliant at speed - a fun sports car you can tour in and that you can actually get people in the back of. Feels a bit like the TVRs I've had in that you need to take some time to learn to drive them properly.

Of course, you all know that. Anyway, hello!

Lovely car. Another ex TVR owner here although it’s 16 years since I last owned one (owned 2 Cerbera models).

Welcome to the world of Maserati glad to see you're enjoying it, as you say they take a bit or learning but once understood can be great.
