Hi everybody,
Just purchased first Maserati. V. Excited GT 4.2 2008
Noor just sorted me some mercury grey neptunes and has spacers, springs and Larini exhaust coming next week.
Its been really useful reading the threads on this site whilst making my decision to purchase which wavered between Porsche, Maserati and Aston
Obviously made the right decision and first ride and weekend sealed it! Most importantly 10 yr old son has given it the thumbs up.

Cheers Miles. I remember those from my teenage years :) Now the thing is, is there any benefit, other than making the wheels looks wider? I assume the wider track is going to have some effect on stability?

I *suspect* there are things about my car that would benefit from £150 more than that, but I'm open to correction....

Hi Cat, they do make the car look better, as even with 15mm the wheels fill the arches better, particularly if you drop it on the springs.

Go the same all round and you'll notice the car will be a little more sure footed (not a lot in it to be honest), but play with wider spacers on the back v the front and you'll quicken the steering a bit.

Interesting, thanks.

In honesty, so far, I've only got one real complaint about the 4200 suspension is that it feels a bit wallowy over undulations at speed. Hitting the sport button elimates most of that, but given that I've only owned it since November, it's not really been the weather to explore the grip and handling. Except last Tuesday where a maneuver that I'd have done in the GT at about 0C set the dashboard alight like it was Christmas.
Quicker steering could be interesting. I shall see how I feel after the decent(!) weather.

Dropping the stock springs helps with the wallowiness without needing to cost a fortune. I used to get really ****ed off with long fast corners where you had no idea what the traction was doing because all you could feel was progressive body roll. Not as good a solution as stiffer springs, but no where near the expense either.

IMHO I just felt the wheels needed to fill arches more and what's a 30mm lowering amongst friends.......
After poring over hundreds of images I just felt that was the appearance I liked especially in my combo of grigio granito and black leather. Hopefully these will be on next week so I will post some images along with a YouTube link for the exhaust note as I found the clips on there really useful and anything I can do to help others with their decisions etc etc

Must say I have looked at Noors website many times thinking that it I got myself a 4.2 it would be straight to noor for an exhaust, springs and spacers.....Would imagine its just what the 4.2 needs.....

Make sure you post some pictures once it's all done...

Small mods, really do seem to transform the GT. And the beauty is, they dont have to be all done at once, they can be spread over months and tailored to what you want to improve about the car.

Alfa's used to have vast wheel arches as well, I recall.

So what's the solution to lowering, Miles, Monaco?

TIA

Welcome Monaco, I'm sure you will enjoy the Massa, as will your Son.

Noor I have just been having a look through your website, looks like it could be expensive so it will be going on my banned list!!! So far I have eyed up the spacers and the Valved exhaust system. Must resist!!!!!!! Joking aside the prices look good might have a look at getting some spacers in a couple of weeks just need to make sure I prefer the look or not.
