Hello all

I’m interested in delving into the world of Maseratis after many years of wanting one. I originally wanted a QP but now im aiming for a 4200.

I currently have a Robin Hood kit car but want something more usable and with 4 seats.

I’m based in Helensburgh not too far from Glasgow. Looking forward to researching the cars before hopefully acquiring one.

I work as a mechanical engineer so I’m keen to do as much maintenance as possible myself. It’s part of the enjoyment of ownership for me. It does worry me that no one will ever buy a car maintained by its owner though?

Welcome. A lot of people here do their own spannering.

On the most part, with the assistance of experience on here, there isn’t much you won’t be able to manage. A well priced car will always sell.

Couldn't agree more. Still chuffed at doing the SKF rear track-rod bearings replacement on the MCV. Your help, with very clear instructions, made the job a snack, Zep. Saved me thousands of $s, AND I enjoyed the journey...

Welcome on board. Market seems like an all time low so plenty of bargains to be had it you're handy in the tools. Unfortunately some parts costs are unavoidable so try and buy a car that do doesn't need rear control arms

Good of you to say so, thanks! :)

Good Luck in your search and nothing wrong in looking after the car yourself especially if you're an Engineer they are very enjoyable to work on.

Welcome and as above if your handy with a spanner you can manage costs but some parts still carry a heavy Maserati tax but at the moment there are a few around that are good value for money.

Thanks all for the warm welcomes.

These are the kind of Italians I’m used to playing with before the kit car came along.

In case you haven't seen it, there is a low mileage black manual 4200 advertised on this forum for £10,000. I have no connection with the member. Good luck in your search.

I certainly have ! Looking at the blue CC too.
Yes, please buy it so I can stop obsessing over it, but I don't have the ability to buy till the summer.!!!!

And seriously.... I think it's a great example with lots of extras added like the exhaust and carbon trims. @HTAFC4200 has clearly looked after her well.
