The Alfa part was also upgraded, I think you'll find, Matt

No idea about the new new part, though :D

G'day all,

Bit of an update since I have finally had time to look at the Masser again! So I decided to replace the pump in the end as It seemed a sensible option given their history etc. All fitted using the excellent guide on here - brilliant help! On coming to bleed the system though I can't seem to get any fluid out of the bleed nipple. I have started the car and don't have any lights on but haven't tried putting it gear yet. Will try again later, post start up, but anyone any advice of this?

Thanks!

Olly

PS I went for the Alfa pump in the end, I couldn't find anyone who did the pump on its own. The one I took off looked like the original given the rust and **** on it! I'll examine it more closely to see how worn it was when I have a bit more time over the winter...

Hmm? Had another go at bleeding the system today, this time totally removing the screw. Got a release of pressure and then primed the pump a few times by opening the door with the screw off then replaced the screw and primed the system again. It now only takes a few seconds for the pump to turn off on opening the door so I assume that it is reaching pressure quickly. Does this seem right? I haven't tried changing gear yet but I don't have any warning lights so I'm hoping I'm ready to go?

Anyone else bleed the system at all?

Cheers for the reply - in the middle of changing the oil, coolant, etc at the moment too so have had a chance to test it fully yet.

On a side note, having spent several days under the car looking at the pump I don't think the Ferrari alternative pump mentioned above would fit our cars? It does look much more substantial though...!
