Glowing bright red in my instrument binnacle. Aargh!
I haven't disturbed anything recently, no flat batteries either.
So searching the forum it appears that only a SD2 reader can turn this off/reset.
To clarify, am I right in thinking that once the light is lit, even if the cause of the fault disappears, the light will not extinguish until reset with the SD2?
The reason why I ask is that while searching I found a post with the same problem on a similar vintage Ferrari, where the fault could possibly be the passenger airbag -end of dash- isolation switch, a weak point on our cars too it appears. In that case it suggested waggling the key to clean the contacts, then doing a battery isolation for 12 hours...
If the only cure is a SD2 reset, for the cost of a new switch (£20 it appears), is it worth just replacing this troublesome isolation switch before going to a dealer/specialist to reset, to save a potential second trip after replacing this switch, this having a high probability of being the cause of the problem?
