Remember that blue high mileage car that was on Ebay a few weeks ago. Well I was in contact with the owner and it sold at around 7.5k. Sure enough in Ebay fashion timewasters let him down and he was offered 4.6k for it last week but again someone let him down. Surely 4k is a bargain for a car like the 3200 even when needing a few K to get it back into fettle?
"Going through the paperwork, I can tell you that MOT and TAX are in date until next year; Actuator on Turbo has been repaired; Oil pressure switch has been repaired/replaced; Rear brake pads have been replaced. (This was done in June 2013)"
Oh and off topic for a second, the pics of the dash show the temp gauge. It is in degrees C on this car but on mine and a few others of the same age I've seen it in degrees Fahrenheit. Different parts bin?
Offer him £4k and I reckon it's a steal. 1K for service and belts, £500 for disks and brakes sorted, another £500 mates rates for body work and job done! It's what you find on top that 's the worry i suppose!
Blimey a 3200 that's done a 135,000 miles and to be honest looks pretty good. The seller gives a good honest description and I bet there is a few Quid's worth of history with it. Got to be worth a punt ?
That is a good car, even if it had issues, at 4k you would enjoy it for a year and then scrap it for maybe more....engine not maybe but panels and lights alone will get you 3k!!
If you have a bit of DIY ability and can do some of the work yourself or can call on mates rates you could probably sort the majority of issues for £2-3k. Then run it and have some fun for a year or so and then move it on cheaply.
I reckon it's tight but there is some profit more smiles than money probably to be had out of this.
The rear lights must be worth more than a few quid if it goes down the breaker route
