After checking Enrico's pages there seems to be something odd with the grill/headlamp arrangement, as this isn't the standard QPII grill, nor the Frua prototypes from what I can tell. Not that I'm ANY sort of expert.

Intriguing……..

Perhaps a bit shortsighted not to give the VIN details. Can't imagine anyone will take a punt at £40K, so this will only appeal to a collector and as a collector provenance is everything.

I'll watch it with some interest to see what happens with the sale...

Would Imagine you could get a Merak for that money...Which would you have as a classic Maserati...If you you want a classic QP buy a low miles 2004 car store it and bring it out in 20 years time......

I'm likely going to regret this statement..... I really like it! Maserati had one on their stand at good wood this year and it was superb! I love the fact that it's so over the top and at the same time subtle.

The styling reminds me of the Citroen SM, which again I love. Not sure it worth that just for the rarity factor though.

Plenty of Citroen parts under the bonnet to see, it is of its age and not to everyones taste. It is overpriced IMHO but deserves to be restored just for its rarity.

I'm going to reserve judgement until after the weekend. The Maserati Club has QPs 1-6 on it's stand at the Classic Car show at the NEC + new Ghibli (it's a four door). I'll get to see a QP II in the metal so to speak. However, I've got to agree with Dem - I'd have a Merak any day.
