I almost got the feeling he was going to overtake you down your left hand side before he realised the cars were stopping, he then slowed and pulled in behind you. IMO, everything about him screams kn0b.

One born every minute Benny. I left a safe gap in front of me at all times. You never know he might not of even been asked to go on the parade laps. There was an old chap in a daewoo that joined the queue while we were waiting to go on the track. He was behind me and before the Mclaren and David had got out of the field. I think the marshalls pointed out his error and turned him round. He had waited for 5 minutes or so at that point.

Why on earth was he driving so close? He had a fast car, if he wanted to try it out a little for the crowd then he needed to give himself some space. What a waste of an opportunity.
I had plenty of room in front and behind me of me most of the time. When I did catch up it was simply a matter of slowing down for a short while and a nice bit of acceleration could be experienced.
Thanks goes to whoever was behind me for not pushing.

Im so tempted to leave a comment on his youtube page but i will bite my tongue for now. How apt the term youtube is on this occasion. I've only just had the benefit of watching the video with sound. If you watch the video every car in front leaves a good 50ft or so of clear track in front of them while we were all moving. If you listen around the 3.48 mark he obviously thought about overtaking us all. As for the comment at 6.05 im assuming its aimed at me along with an earlier comment that im holding him up. Its a freaking parade lap you muppet. It was supposed to be Italian cars going round the circuit as a bit of entertainment between races. Unless the Mclaren HQ has been moved from Woking to Italy then it shouldn't have been on the track during the Italian stampede Perhaps he was just misguided into thinking it was a race and open to all the cars in our section. Im sure Benny will shed some light on it in due course.

I don't think there was any feeling about it, that was definitely an overtaking move, at 2:15 he says "he's slowing us down here"

He saw everybody else leave and thought I'll have some of that, he can't have been in the queue or there wouldn't be such a big gap.

In some respects I wish he had overtaken everybody until he got to the safety car then the realisation followed by ejection from the circuit would have sunk in

He though it was a free lap and you lot were driving like old women hence the comment at the end.

He did arrive with us and was parked in the next field so I assume it was somebody that Dave knew. When the queue stopped as we were all leaving to go onto the track, I waited off the road and he pulled out of the field in front of me.

It was pretty clear as we were going round that he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing. Klive's right - there was plenty of space if you just hung back a bit.

Its like an annoying little dog nipping at the heels of a thoroughbred.:road_rage-28:

I think he got a bit upset when a rather annoying child kept saying"rev your engine" and when he did the kid looked as his dad and they just walked off - we then gave him some italian V8 to listen to that he got all excited about - me and the mrs were in stitches. I think he saw us laughing

hahah yep he revved it and sounded like luster (apparently the 675 has a decent exhaust note, my mate has one on order and he said the 650 sounds soft) the kid at the back just looked then heard Frank and the Masers spit the beans out and then walked back to the Italians....

The Daewoo was funny as he was waiting to park up and came over complaining to Dave that he had paid good money to get in and all these supercars were in his way .... eventually all the cars pulled onto the field and parked up.

It was aimed at me as he was following me on the way to the track... and he bottled it all the way and on every corner - maybe fast but the driver isnt!

I so want to leave a comment on you tube..

I have refrained from leaving a comment at the moment as i wouldnt want to upset David incase its a mate of his. If it isn't a mate of David then I will leave my thoughts on his youtube page. Im assuming he can read but possibly not seeing as it said italian stampede on his ticket.

He's no mate of mine if that's what your asking.

This is what his antics looked like from behind, shot from my son's phone so not great quality. Coming over the rise to discover everything stopped certainly focussed the mind but it's clear from this he was going to try to overtake. The old x-pipe sounds great though - I'm really pleased with that!

I've just spoken to David about Mucklaren boy. David was unaware of what had gone on so I gave him a verbal description and referred him to the 2 videos. It turns out he was supposed to be bringing a 430 but he bought the green thing at the end of last week so he wanted to bring that instead. So, not only was he driving like a d!ck, he was doing it in a car he knew next to nothing about, which had new tyres, whilst on a damp race track. I'm not impressed, and told David exactly that. Whilst I've no problem with anyone leaving a gap and 'going for it', because that's what the spectators want, I do have a problem tailgating the car in front and making them feel uncomfortable. I'll let you know what David says.

I wasn't uncomfortable Benny. The 4200 is a nice place to be even when kermit the kn0b was trying to mate with the tailgate ;)

Perhaps next time, and I hope there is a next time, a note should be handed out explaining how to get the best from the experience. There will be experienced and first timers at any event like this and sharing some advice could ensure everyone enjoys themselves and puts on a good display for the audience.
It's down to the event organiser to handle this. At silverstone last year an official came up to our window and said "Don't do anything silly". He got a wry smile.:baffle:
