Out for a run in a car that makes the 4200 seem pedestrian!!!

Among other cars a 72 year old friend of mine took me for a wee run in his 2.5 lt millington powered darrian.... flip its quick above 5500rpm..amazing brakes and grip too even on cold slicks on a damp road...have been promised a drive in his Citroen C2 R2 maxi on throttle bodies.He also has a 70's historic 911 and a clubman spec 6R4... nice collection....

Im only 5'8" and skinny....really tight fit to get in and out...1 foot in then sit on sill and slide bum in...bend left leg up with my hand to get it in! ... Dessies oldest son dosent fit in!! Head touches roof with helmet on....

Yep..its a beast... he does a rally in Anglesea each year..says airfield events suit better than closed roads as at his age too slow to take pacenotes in.... may also be someting to do with the cars speed!..dont think i could cope with the speed at 47!! That millington engine is over 300bhp with a hewland flappy paddle box i think and the car weighs nothing..just a spaceframe with fibreglass body...
hes a quick driver still but has been rallying since 60's.... was top 3 often in 70's in international tarmac rallies beating roger clark, etc in usually a porsche 911 RS... flippin cars are £300k plus now..think he sold one for around £10 in the 70's!!!

Even did an event or 2 in a Lancia 037.. he has a monte carlo with 037 panels in his garage!!!
