Most of those have already rise massively in the last 12-18 months. And the C6 ? WTF????

I think you're confusing yourself with the HPI list, not the one on the link that I wrote for Parkers… There's not a C6 on the Parkers one.

Sorry seen too many lists that very often result in no rise and indeed WTF responses and I really did WTF on the Citroen one.

4200 is already on the up brcause there are very few examples under 15k and this time if year prices generally slump.

Still maintain that the 3200 will rise more than the 4200 in the next 5 years...

The market for the 3200 is all over the place. Market top end for non AC cars is knocking on the door of £30k, while some struggle to make £10k at ACA. And £10k still isn’t bottom of the market.
Even though I love the car it’s tricky to make that call from an investment POV - once the bottom of the market solidifies and the sub-£10k cars disappear then the top can rise. The 4200 is rarely dipping below £15k and the best cars are advancing already. There’s just too much variation for the 3200 - at the moment.
It was the case for the Porsche 928 and the BMW 635 CSI - look how long it’s taken those to shake off the lower end of each market. The 3200 will increase but those expecting to double their money may be disappointed.

On a personal note I’d never buy a car for just investment purposes - I see value rises as an added benefit. Buy the car you love and if it still makes you happy then your investment in your own joy will pay off, and leave the balance sheet to the accountant.

I'm happy with this, finally after all these years i might get my money back when I come to sell mine in 4-5 years when the Alfieri comes out... (ironic smile).

I tend to agree with Phil in saying that the 3200 will catch up with 4200 prices but I can't think why! (another ironic smile!)

I'm also happy as my wife has a Z4, not an 'M' but it's a great car even in the 20iS form. The Z4M is the older E85 and is a rag top but the newer E89 Z4 has a metal folding roof which is better in my opinion. The new Z4 (F/G??) is rumoured to be a rag-top too so the E89 should still hold some value. And yes you can open and close it on the move...i did this the other day...but you have to go around 20mph or less and annoyingly keep your finger on the button.

In 5-10 years time when only the well looked after examples are surviving there will be more 4200/GS left than 3200 so on rarity they might command a higher price but parts will be even scarcer than now. While this will be an overall M138 problem for things like trim pieces and odd parts the 3200 will have more vital parts that are difficult to obtain such as engine parts so that might play in as a factor for potential buyers who want to use it and not have it as a museum piece.

I dont see well looked after 4200's being worth much more than 25k (or equivalent to) in the next 5-10 years... unless we are talking stupid low milage
