Parking brake slack adjustment? making noise... Pics

So my cars been clicking from the left rear when chasing from positive to negotiable drivetrain load and it would go away when flicking the parking brake once in While. When it started up but now it's lol the time.

Upon inspecting it right now everything looks good and pulling on the cable im pointing to in the pic everything functions as it should and smoothly. However! There is much extra slack even at the current resting position that I physically have to place/push the metal end of the cable into its spherical housing at the knuckle. Clearly here is too much slack and I can't find an adjustment at the back half of the car. I imagine the noise is from all this extra loose play in the parking brake. It barely holds the car anyways so it's obvious it needs the play removed.

Please advise

I saw what you did there, multilingual tech support :D , is that the same on the 4200 or can it be adjusted manually

Saves me the effort of copy / paste the response on Maserati life :) The 4200 can be adjusted in the traditional way, you lucky, lucky man :)

First port of call is to take the battery out and have a look what's going on at the other end of the cables (at the motor). It is possible that a little clip has fallen off and putting it back together will sort your problem. You may need an SD3 to put the brake into service mode.

However it is also possible that the motor/ECU is goosed - I have changed more than I care to remember.

Mine had the former problem..easy fix.

Can I ask the OP whether he put the Rolex on just for the photo or whether he is really exposing it to all that scratching in the ordinary course of events?

I have seen the cable simply come off the shoe puller on one side and give the same issue you report.

Worth checking the easy/obvious stuff first.

I'm not finding anything for a sd3 scan tool for sale. Your saying the motor is under the battery? It looks like the cables
Go the the head shielding by the diffuser somewhere

It's a tool watch, plus I wasn't really going elbow deep in anything. Not gonna see me wearing my AP under a car tho! I buy/sell watches as a hobby and everything gets repolished before sold... ironically, office use puts more marks on my stuff than everything I do from motorcycles to guns.

You wont find them for sale very often. Its the dealer software / computer which can talk to the various car computer modules. Around £15 -20k to buy plus the licence fees / updates. The other system is a Leonardo which i believe is slightly cheaper but you pay a fee based on which car manufacturers you need it to talk to.

There is a cheaper Chinese system that claims it can carry out various functions which i think starts at £600 upwards. I believe voicey may have tested one but it didnt seem that good an option.

The only other option you may have is an obdstar x200 pro which has been able to reset service lights on QPs but quite how many of the onboard computers it can communicate with is unknown. So it may not suit your purpose.

It may have to be a trip to your local indy or dealer to have the use the SD3 tool on your car.
