I'm looking for recommendations on some parts for the GS.

Tyres - currently running pzero but I did read somewhere about Goodyear being less harsh for UK roads.

Gearbox fluid

Coolant type

Thanks for any recommendations!

Be interested re the tyres. Mine are hardly worn but getting to an age where new rubber is recommended.

Will probably go with the Michellin again as I have had them on all three coupes now along with a brief stint with Avons, which the car came with, and previously with some Verdasine... both had much nice tread patterns.

EBC yellow stuff

Michelin ps4s, or goodyear F1 assy5

Motul 300 LS

I used VW G13 coolant as it only needs changing every 5 years

In the market for rear tyres

@jasst Are the PS4S that much better than Goodyear asym5?

Any one have Costco membership and have you used their tyre service... Are they any good? I am a little fed up of blackcircles fitting partners.

I went with the Formula Dynamics ceramic pads as they throw off white dust not black.
Keeps the wheels much cleaner.

Gearbox oil I used after lots of research - RedLine 75W90 NS
Engine oil I have used Shell Helix Ultra 5W40 (Ferrari spec) but the price of this has gone up a lot so I might switch to something else.
Tyres - I've always run Vredestein Ultrac Vorti as they are reasonably priced and I've found them to be excellent. Also designed by Giugiaro so I kind of like the connection.

I run DS2500 pads, and apart from the dead zone before biting, they are great. Brakes have been bled with fresh fluid, but I don't have braided hoses yet. Currently run what was called Super Blue brake fluid before they changed the colour due to EU regulations.
I have MPS4's on mine, and really rate them, very decent tyre.
Motul 300LS is in the gearbox with a fresh filter also.
Cant remember what coolant I ended up with, but did a full flush last year.

Swapped from Pzero to Mich PS4 a couple of years ago after the wife put them on her Z4M - seemed to feel the bumps a lot less and drive much better and quieter. Don't last well on track though, at least not on the Beemer. One rule in life is not to save money on things that go between you and the ground - tyres, carpets, parachutes, shoes, mattresses, etc.

As for oils and fluids, it costs about 30p/mile in fuel, why scrimp a few quid on the other bits :)

I suppose the same rule goes for Mrs1963 then. :)

Has anyone tried Red Line 75W - 90NS gear box fluid and how does it compare to the most common recommended Motul LS?

Cheers

I changed to Red Line 75w90 ns last year. Has worked well for me. I also use Red Line 10w60 oil, as Shell Helix is NA over here.
The RL 10w60 does not foam up, and checking oil level while running ( 4200 dry sump) is easy.
