Last Thursday morning, less than 24 hours into Granturismo ownership, I pulled out onto an A-Road from an unclassified. There was a decent gap before the next traffic, but I "made a little bit of progress" to ensure I didn't impede anyone. Gentle curve to the left and...ARGGHHHH Speed Trap! Looked down at the speedo - 38 MPH. I've spent the last week expecting a brown window envelope and wondering which side of the fence my normal assumed 10% speedo error and 10% leeway would leave me.
Well, the not very eagerly awaited envelope arrived today with a notification that I was clocked a little bit higher than the 35 MPH that I was expecting. Heart sank, got to the end of the letter to find:
"No further action will be taken on this occasion, but your details will be held for 12 months and, any further incidents ...."
Actually quite surprised and impressed that I got the benefit of the doubt - I was under the impression that I was pretty cautious in 30's & 40's and certainly I won't be assuming that the GT speedo under-reads in future.
