Last week. Station car park. Railway bye laws mean they can still do it as long as they have signs. The never check the car park and the machine is normally bust so often people don't pay. A guy came and ticketed 30 cars in an afternoon. If you had already been given a ticket in the last year you got a clamp. No explanation of the signs but it's their discretion so can't argue against it.

Hilts, sign up to www.notomob.co.uk and post the circumstances up on there, I'm pretty sure they are not legally allowed to clamp you, there are many members on there with detailed knowledge of the law and in particular to private companies. Railway bylaws are a bit of an unknown but I would have thought only BTP officers would be authorised to clamp.

Thanks, I did some digging around and it looks like in railway car parks they can clamp but I'll visit the site. Very annoying, they just decided one day to have a blitz and because I had a ticket last year I got a clamp like the 4200 next to me. 5 clamps in the car park all on nice cars, funny eh? The clamper was sitting in his car at the end of the car park waiting for us to get off the train. The double whammy is that in order to get released you need to agree to pay the parking ticket in full - i.e. no appeal and no discount.

I have one of these, I'd go home and get it and return later that evening and bust her out.

And leave a new padlock so they can't sue you, or just sell the thing on Ebay and say you came back that evening and there was no clamp on your car, you could go hire a superhero outfit with maks and do the lot!

Optical illusion I think. It's much closer to the camera than the car.

Just given that the OSF wheel is in focus, and the bar isn't.

Could be wrong, of course.

Ah, its the wiper arm of the car taking the photo. I was on my phone earlier and could make it out.

The hose is there for the driver when they feel they have had enough of people taking photos of their 'enhancements' to the car. Just slip it through the side window.

I presume there isn't a silencer. And it must register as zero emissions when they plug the thing into the exhaust at the back...
