I've stripped down and rebuilt/serviced a few webers in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it, not as complicated/difficult as some people might think, done a few SU's many moons ago as well

I've always wondered: there's no airfilter in there is there? If so where is it, if not how can an engine keep alive at the first sign of dust ingestion?
Obiviously never owned/worked/investigated/saw one (up close).

Basically. It’s an inertia starter. Can be done a number of ways but you spin up a flywheel and once it’s going at a fair lick connect it to the engine.
