I have one more day up this end of our great country. I urge anyone who loves driving in 2nd and 3rd gear. Bring your car up here It's very addictive. I had a great drive today across to lake Windermere absolute stunning roads and country side.
And of course the lake and surrounding area will definitely come back this way.

Come back through the Ribble Valley too if you want some more stunning scenery. When you leave the lakes make sure you head past yealand Redmayne and drive Storrs lane and Silverdale road, we named them "Tickle tummy Hills" as kids and driving them you will see why :D

This looks like a good detour on the way home Tuesday. Thanks.

I don't want to drive too far out of my way on the trip back down. So if I stayed on the a6 is this a more enjoyable route down than sitting on the m6. Or any other suggestions would be greatfull. Lookin on the map would probably pick up the m6 at Preston so not on the a6 for long.

Come off at Lancaster and then take the A683 towards Kirkby Lonsdale then take the right fork on the B6480 towards Bentham, you will now head into the Forest of Bowland, through Slaidburn etc and there are some good pubs en route e.g Parkers Arms and Inn at Whitewell and take the B6478 to the market town of Clitheroe.

From there you can head on the A59 to Preston and pick up the M6 south but call in at Bowker Maserati for a look around :D
