Just had my insurance reassessment done on my workshop my broker came out from Laval after already arranging for an independent valuation of my hand tools replacement value €60,000
Only one thing I have to do is put a proper mortice lock on my doors.
No alarm system needed or bars on the windows and no need to have a secure tool room to keep my tools in like being required in the UK.
Even my little opening for my Cats is okay :)IMG_20240419_083855_055.jpgIMG_20240419_083908_911.jpg

944 Tradesman's edition back when Plumbers were on £90 an hour in the 90's.
Have they ever got any cheaper?! My cousin has a place in Normandy and it seems labour in the building and maintenance sector is even more expensive than here. Is that what you have found on Pays de Loire?

We're using local artisan's and paying €45 an hour plus the TVA here all ads up when 3 guys on the go at once.

That’s great news Phil; saw a VW caddy a couple of weeks ago, had all the extra locks fitted like mine and the scumbags had practically removed the C-pillar to get the side door open! Roof, floor and side frame screwed so the van will be a write off! I doubt they get £100 for a full set of power tools either! Just stock for car boot sales.
