Pics look great Pete, manual GS, no, it has a 4200 interior so I expect it's a 4200 with GS bumpers and skirts and a 50/50 tech cloth interior in GS seats. Well modified to be fair to Lorenz.

Few have seen it Phil as it never moves slowly enough to be spotted! Yes it is great to be enjoying the awesome howl of that motor again... Just been working way too hard to get out much.

Looking good, Newton! Really good. Must feel great to have her back on the road after the lost summer last year.

Hope you're having a good weekend away.

Using Swisvax Wax sparingly.

1) Wax on then out in the sun for a while to bake it in and alow any excess to become soft and turn clear.
2) Back into the garage to cool a little then wipe any dust off that may have settled with quick detail.
3) Second thin coat applied then repeat stage 1-2

Wax will always leave a deeper shine than polymer coating but only last a month or so before it needs topping up.

But as with everything its about the prep beforehand which was....
2 washes
2 runs with a clay
tar remover for the cills and stubbon bits round the wheels and bottom if the surf boards
Swisvax cleaner fluid
then waxing

The wax I used (Autoglym HD) says to only leave on for max 10 minutes then wipe down & polish. Maybe different compounds though. It turns very hard and the excess comes off like a dust. So should I polish that off first then try a second coat? I'm going to have plenty of time to experiment next week.

Most wax will tell you to do that Chris.....Swisvax may different but never used it as its bloody expensive...Good though..

Liz would pass out if I told her I spend over £100 on a pot of wax....

I used AG HD wax yesterday on the Alfa. The paint is badly swirled up as its my day runabout and I have never waxed it.

The HD wax went on and off easy and has made a world of difference to the knackered paintwork. The HD is more of a sealer than a wax and is just the job for tired paint as it masks a multitude of sins.

I still use Harley's which is a Carnuaba based wax on my 'precious' cars you just can't beat it on price and permformance.

Dem gave me 3 tubs when I first met him some 5 years ago and I am 3/4 of the way through the first tin!

You don't get residue with swisvax as long as you don't overdo the application. ..it also dries clear.
