Roger without doubt your car is The best GS I've ever seen - it must turn heads like they're going out of fashion!
Hi Outrun, unfortunately back home now, perhaps meet up on a later excursion north of the border.
Nice one.
You must be the guy who modified QP wheels to fit the different PCD and offset on the 32/42/GS...tell us more, can't be easy, my calculations say that simple bolted hub adapters can't be used due the extreem offset differences...or can they?!
Boomerang rear lights, again tell us more! (look like the bolt in kit available to you in Australia)
Cheers.
Thanks Alvin, must be a major re-machining job for the wheels, they look good!
AutoRacingTechnik are looking to supply the UK market with their boomerang conversion, especially as the bits originate from car breakers in the UK I believe!
Thanks Greg
It isn't a major re-machining Mike. They only change the PCD on the wheel, the offset and rest still original Quartoportte except the PCD
Alvin
I can see now if no hub adapter, by my calculations taking into account the wider rims of the QP, your front rims will stick out 10mm and your rear rims stick out 15mm more than stock GS rims. So no more than stock GS rims and typical wheel spacers.
The problem if you don't change the wheel PCD and use hub adapters instead, they would stick out too far by the thickness of the hub adapter, min 20mm.
Incidentally, although the GranTurismo has the same PCD as the QP, the rear wheels have a much more aggressive offset, so would be problem even if the PCD is changed.
I would be interested in how they change the PCD of the QP wheels, I assume re-drill, and fill the old redundant holes?
