I have 90% decided to keep my 06 QP sportGT and carry out the body repairs myself. The insurers will cough for £9k (less my xs £1250) I estimate cost to me £3500. So next April renewal there will be a loading applied. Based on total repair of the 2 cars (QP and XC70) cost to insurer say £11k. Does anyone have thoughts on what the loading might be? This year the premium for all 3 cars was £980.
Depending on the premium hike it might be a time to duck out and sell or part ex the QP with FSH and 50k.
In which case 3 options. As I am entitled to disability living allowance
A motability car for 3 years, insurance and tax all included eg a Seat Leon FR
Or look for a late QP 5 or GTS up to 30k ish
Or scratch the itch with a Gran Cabrio up to £42k all depending on the insurance.
