Pros and Cons of car wrapping?

What is the general consensus on doing this for an old car (not the mas)?

I'm not a fan as seen a few after the wrap has come off...My friends 911 had to have paint work...But if it's an old car and a bit of fun then go for it......

Currently for sale with no takers yet, still wrapped.
It actually pulls it off, but many hate it.

A 1973 VW Type 3 fastback.
The paint has started to peel off in a hard plastic film? probably due to the harsh climatic conditions (no garage space for this one).
