So….FB claiming that they have created polybushes for the QP and GTS

The website etc - came through a PM….all very odd…so I wondered if anyone has heard of Toole Autos.

I would also add that while the OEM bushes have a metal insert to improve steering response, I’ll bet a few quid on that not being the case here.

Much talk on the FB group about Chinese Suspension Arms...not even with your barge pole!

No traceability, no certification, no comeback if they fail. At speed.

Last year I discussed suspension refurbishment with VPS.

Specifically the service they provide for the 4200. Below is an extract from an email regarding their replacement bushes:

"We avoid polyurethane at all cost. It is commercialized material not suitable for any rotating parts like bushes etc. It squeaks cracks and it’s generally worse than rubber. Somehow it made it into aftermarket world, due to affordable price and good marketing. However, I can assure you that you won’t find polyurethane in any high end motorsport grade parts."

I have built several race Mgbs and Mgbv8s which handle a sight better with poly bushes and have run two Alfa Romeo 156 sportwagon s, one quite modified, which have had every single rubber bush replaced with poly bushes for over a decade: again, a vast improvement: simply put, the replacement of rubber bushes with poly bushes means the suspension works better and the bushes do not wear out. And they do come with stainless steel inserts if required!!
I don't know what the issue is to be honest Chaps; they don't sqeak, you get a race or road option ( normally), which depends on the shore rating ( something like that!) . Roll bars work better with them too - I found a company called jepe which offer the earlier front bushes for the 4200 Maserati with poly inserts; they certainly look like Granturismo front bushes - does anyone know if they are the same?
If a company did a set for the Granturismo I'd buy it; c'mon Conaero, you know you want to!!

I polly bushed my GTV, rear end only under the advice of others that doing the front makes the steering crashy.

My old 1965 Mustang that had a nut and bolt restoration with all new suspension was polybushed , it squeaked and was horrible. Had them swapped to OEM and was much happier.

I guess everyone will have difference experiences.

Are you comparing polybushes bought from China via eBay or a reputable manufacturer (I e have a UK presence such as Powerflex) who will give a guarantee.

It's just a worry that some buying a champagne car on a beer budget might fit the former.
