Scot,
Thanks for the offer, but the shipping cost to get it here would be..?? Unless you want to have a crack at pushing the bearing out in the US, you could corner the market on replacements..?? (Sneak us the how to first please)
Cheers

Gents,
Been a while. Well a quick update.... Had the wheel bearing replaced and it has made the world of difference. The car feels so smooth now and balls in the bearing, I could only count about 6 balls left, the rest had just crumbled away I think. The wheel bearing was a nightmare of a job and I had a friend (mechanic) do it and it took nearly 3 hours. Bolts were seized and it would have been better on a ramp really. Anyway the bearing is hard pushed in to the hub, machine pressed I think, I'm not sure you could replace it to be honest. I have some pics which I will upload once I'm home for you guys to see. the only problem I have around the bearing is that the suspension failure light is still on but doesn't come on stariht away unlike pre-bearing replacement, would I need to have the error code removed with a code machine or could there be another issue - I hope not ...? And today the engine management light flashed on, will see it is a glitch when I get in the car after work .... thanks all for your help, especially to Mat for pointing us in the direction of Alan who gave a great discount ...

Glad to be of help, Alan is a great guy.

You could try doing a battery reset to clear the codes, just leave it off overnight in the garage the doors unlocked and the boot left open.

You can buy a cheap diagnostic tool of Ebay for about £20 that should read and clear the codes.
