Not the best era for Maserati. Shame as cars like the M5 from the mid/late 80s still look good IMHO.

2 very nice cars there Frank, i spotted a Nissan Sunny today, sorry, Nissan Bank Holiday Washout. I cant believe how square cars used to be.

As for the QP, hhhmmmm not sure.

Interesting group of pics of all the QP models here: http://www.quattro-porte.com/?cat=15 Personally I've always liked the look of the QP1, especially the series 2, and don't like any of the later ones until the magic QP V. But probably because the QP1 is old enough not just to be out of fashion but now classic; maybe all those later square boxes will be lovingly preserved by someone in 10 years time….

Hi All

The QP is actually mine. I know its not to everyone's liking but its been in my family since new. You'd be surprised how many positive comments the car gets when i take it out. I've been a silent lurker on this forum for a long time so this is my first post, a big hi to everyone on here. I have been on the hunt for a Gransport but need to sell the QP first. Lots of great info on here helping me along the way.

Hello mauriziov and a big welcome to the Forum. A nice surprise to find a QP 1 owner, I think you are unique among us. From what you say, the car must be in much better condition than I for one had suspected. If you are trying to sell it, can I suggest that your ad gives some more details? You indicate in your post here that it is regularly driven, which is a really big plus to know as to the condition – it looks to the uninitiated from your photos like it might be in good physical condition inside but I wondered about mechanically as it says it has been stored for 32 years - no one reading the ad would know it is driveable, and this lack of detail was what made me say earlier you'd have to be brave …Hope you don't mind the comment….tell us more about this rare beast!

Mauriziov......welcome again to our forum.......as you might have gathered the QPs from that period never floated my boat.........BUT if your family have had this particular car from new and you're obviously a Maseratisti then allow me to eat my hat as penance for not being more magnanimous in my comment!

No problem Parisien, good to hear from you. You are correct as i'm a very big Maserati fan. Just itching to get myself into the later model line up.

I have thought of that as my sister lives in Italy and when i go over i have noticed prices seem to hold firmer over there. To be honest i'd keep mine and also get a Gransport but can't really justify having both so really must try and get things moving. I have been asked to sell quite a few times in the past but never took anyone up on their offer. Its only now that after driving a Gransport that i truely know what i want next.

If I can ask, are you a member of the Maserati UK club? Why not advertise it there?

By the time you get it to Italy though.....cost you quite a bit with hassle and paperwork though

You're right costs would be fairly high. I am a member of the club so that will be next advert to go out.
