QPV EPB mounting pad replacement?

Hi

Apologies if there are existing threads on this subject but I don’t seem to have much luck with the search function on this forum!

Whilst changing my battery today I notice that my EPB unit was basically floating free as all 4 of the mounting “pads” have separated at the rubber joint.

My understanding is that these are just a threaded shaft attached to a rubber part and then another threaded shaft bolted at both ends and in my case all 4 rubber sections have failed leaving the EPB unit unattached to anything.

Firstly, is this a common problem and if left as is for a period of time is it going to cause issues with my EPB unit?

What is involved in replacing these mounts, I had a quick look underneath the car and everything is obscured by a large heat shield. Is it just a case of removing this heat shield replacing the mounts or is there much more to it than that? - i.e. do you have to remove loads of other bits just to remove the heat shield etc. ?

Any advice appreciated.

First time I've heard of it. However OEM parts are only £6.50 each...

Certainly looks like just remove the heatshield and bolt them in from underneath. If it was me, I'd probably do something like peelable VHB or velcro.

Odd that all of mine have failed then, as soon as I saw what the issue was I thought I bet there will be loads of stuff on the web about this being a common problem - but obviously not!
