I might regret this but have decided to sell my 2007 QP V .
Having purchased the car from Seraph in London in March 2022 and enjoyed immensely the 2 years since it is time to move on to something different.
The car is a Sport GT registered on 17th September 2007 and has the ZF gearbox and as most will know the 4.2V8 .
Despite the relatively high mileage of 109,470 miles it has been very well looked after over the years with the service history as follows :
Pdi - Carrs Maserati Exeter 17/9/07
6,063 miles Gray Paul 8/12/09
8,392 miles Gray Paul 8/12/10
18,210 miles Lancaster 31/01/13
30,428 miles Joe Macari 12/02/15
40,248 miles Emblem 23/09/16
51,002 miles Emblem 14/09/17
63,703 miles Emblem 24/10/18
74,295 miles Emblem 19/11/19
86,170 miles Emblem 08/03/21
98,386 miles David Phillips 20/07/22
107,973 miles David Phillips 17/11/23

This history is backed up by fully stamped service book and copies of invoices for all work done since 2016 onwards and in addition has other invoices for other work done including cam variators done in 2015 . Invoices alone prior to my ownership amount approx £23k and I myself have spent around £4.5k in keeping the car running as it should including recent new alternator and new battery .
Car is in Nero Carbonio. Interior is Avorio and the headlining is Grigio. I think the paintwork is all original and although not perfect - there are a number of small pin dents /. Chips and scratches as you would expect at this age / mileage but it remains very presentable and is much admired . The alloys could do with a refurb , the TPMS warning light is on and has been since I bought it .Similarly the interior shows some typical signs of wear and tear .
4 former owners . MoT September 2024 .
I am located in Fife Scotland and more than happy for any inspections to be carried out.
If anyone is interested please pm me and I can send more details / answer any questions / provide more pics etc
Car comes with all original books including service book , unused spare as shown , tool kit , sat nav discs and two keys with V5 in my name . Reg no will be retained and returned to VX57UGU

Price - I am looking for £8,750 Ono which I think is reflective of the current market .

Another Sport GT with ZF gear box! I thought @todd.the.submariner 's was a unicorn!

I notice that the inside badge by the glove compartment only says Quattroporte. Did the Sport GT say Sport GT, or just Quattroporte? Also I can't quite see if there is a Sport GT badge on the B pillar.

However appears to have the blacked chicken wire grille and the carbon fibre interior

And lovely to see such a well kept and well enjoyed example!

I've just dug out my Maserati range brochure from 2008, just prior to the face-lift S model being launched. And to my surprise, it does include the Auto Sport GT.

The full Maserati range (in the UK) was (in the order they appear in the brochure):
QP Auto
QP Auto Sport GT
QP Auto Executive GT
QP Auto Sport GT S
QP Duoselect
QP Duoselect Sport GT
QP Duoselect Executive GT
Granturismo (which was only available as an auto at this time)

So, my memory had played tricks on me, thinking that the Sport GT was duoselect only. Of course, the big shame was that they never built a QP Duoselect Sport GT S.

Anyway, GLWS.

thanks Ewan . Here is a pic of the b pillar .

I should also have added into the first post that it has the 5 cd changer and Bose speakers system . Red calipers and decent Michelin pilot sport 4 tyres all round . Recent 4 wheel alignment . Discs and pads replaced fairly recently too.

It was the QP Sports GT S Automatica had the fixed non skyhook suspension. Below is the official Maserati press release from 2007 relating to the pre facelift QP Sport GT S (text copied from Maserati media CD ROM):

MASERATI QUATTROPORTE SPORT GT S

Maserati presents a world premier at the Frankfurt International Motor Show: the Quattroporte Sport GT S, the ultimate expression of the Trident’s sedans’ sportiness. Developed for drivers who demand the unparalleled handling of a thoroughbred sports car even in a luxury sedan, the Quattroporte Sport GT S stands out as a gratifying and thrilling driving experience.

SUSPENSION AND SET-UP
The Quattroporte Sport GT S introduces single-rate dampers that were specifically developed and calibrated to further enhance the vehicle's dynamic balance. Thanks to new stiffer springs and dampers the car's set-up was lowered by 10 mm in front and 25 mm in rear. This drop and greater rigidity in the suspension have led to a noticeable reduction in the roll and pitch angles, and the weight transfer and a slight increase in lateral acceleration. In everyday driving, this translates into limited movements in the body of the car, with significant improvements in terms of agility, as well as travel speed through and traction coming out of curves.
Set-up characteristics have been optimised by the implementation of tyres with a revised mix and structure; the rear tyres have a larger ground footprint, which now measures 295/30 – R20 in place of the standard 285/30 – R20.
The new tyres further improve road holding and ensure greater precision and steering responsiveness.

BRAKING SYSTEM
The Quattroporte Sport GT S debuts the innovative dual-cast brake disc developed in collaboration with Brembo.
The structure of the dual-cast brake disc — made of two materials, cast iron and aluminium — helps optimise the performance of the braking system, improving the feeling at the pedal and increasing resistance to fade even at the highest temperatures.
Differently from traditional cast iron discs, the dual-cast disc consists of a cast-iron braking surface and an aluminium hat, making it possible to combine the advantages of heat-resistance provided by cast iron with the lightweight properties of aluminium. In particular, the use of aluminium, which is generally 20% lighter than cast iron, made it possible to increase the diameter of the front discs — 360 mm — while maintaining the same weight.
In addition to improving the performance of the braking system and reducing the fading effect, other advantages created by the dual-casting of these two materials include greater driving comfort, less wear on the discs and pads, and better component performance.
The braking system in the Quattroporte Sport GT S also features new mono-block six-piston aluminium front brake calipers, ABS, which prevents the wheels from locking up when braking, and EBD for better distribution of braking force between the front and rear wheels, both integrated with MSP stability control.

EXTERIORS
Visually, the Quattroporte Sport GT S stands out from other models for its more aggressive look , which underlines the vehicle's sporty nature and dynamic flair. The black-chrome mesh grille, a characteristic element of sporty Maseratis, is combined with a series of small but significant aesthetic elements: the side window trims and the two double exhaust pipes are also black, whilst door handles are in the same colour of the body of the car.
The exterior outfitting of the Quattroporte Sport GT S is completed by the Dark-Chrome paint on the 20", seven-spoke rims, giving the car a character that is unique in the Quattroporte range and making this vehicle instantly recognisable.
The colour of the rims stands out against the brake calipers, which come standard in red, and are also available in five other colours as an optional: Black, Silver, Titanium, Blue and Yellow.

INTERIORS
The special configuration of the cabin, ground-breaking in its combination of elegance and sportiness, celebrates the sporty bent of the Quattroporte Sport GT S through the meticulous selection of materials used in this latest evolution of the Maserati flagship.
The interior finish also reflect the exclusivity of this model, which features carbon-fibre with aluminium treads that inject radiance and depth to all interior surfaces. Carbon-fibre finishing enriches the mouldings, the centre dashboard, and the gear shift knob. The pedals are lightweight aluminium, as found in competition vehicles. The new front seats offer an advanced level of lateral containment and are distinguished by the new design of the seat and backrest. Thanks to a more cosseting shape, they ensure an excellent level of comfort as well as support for the upper body and legs in sporty driving.
Interiors of the Quattroporte Sport GT S combine the traditional Poltrona Frau leather and Alcantara, two materials that represent the best expression of Italian craftsmanship. The central sections of the seats, door panels, and the rim of the sports steering wheel are upholstered in Alcantara, available in five colours (Beige, Pearl beige, Grigio, Nero, and Blu Trofeo), offering customers more ways to personalise the vehicle and giving the interior a sporty touch. The new colour Rosso Corallo has also joined the range of leather options.

ENGINE – 400 HP V8
The normally aspirated 4244 cc, 90° V8 engine is compact and light, and promptly and gradually delivers 400 hp (295 kW) at 7000 rpm, equal to a specific power of 95.2 hp/litre; the maximum torque is 460 Nm at 4250 rpm.
Distribution is by four overhead camshafts, two per bank, chain driven, with four valves per cylinder controlled by hydraulic tappets. The aspirated camshafts, with a continuous-phase high-pressure speed gear-change, have a characteristic profile which optimizes power delivery even at low engine speeds. The electronically-controlled accelerator features "Drive by Wire", with no mechanical connections. The placement of the V8 engine behind the front axle ensures perfect distribution of weight between the front and rear axles (49% / 51%), resulting in enormous benefits in terms of the vehicle's dynamic responsiveness.

TRANSMISSION
The Quattroporte Sport GT S features the ZF six-gear automatic transmission. The state of the art collaboration between Maserati and ZF has given rise to a hydraulic transmission that showcases the progression of the V8 at low-medium engine speeds without limiting the engine power, allowing changes at speeds up to 7200 rpm. This results in top-level performance: top speed of 270 Km/h, and acceleration of 0-100 Km/h in 5.6 sec.
In manual mode the transmission can be controlled using the knob on the central tunnel or with the paddles on the steering wheel, as in competition vehicles. Pressing the Sport button will also make all engine speeds available to the driver.

Sorry I know this does not answer the question about the Sport GT automatic though !!!

According to the brochure:
Both the Auto and Auto Sport GT had skyhook.

Specific to the Auto Sport GT were:
Paddles behind the steering wheel to allow gear changes (whereas on the Auto you needed to use the central gearstick)
20 inch seven spoke alloy wheels (as opposed to the 19 inch nine spoke jobs)
Cross-drilled brake discs
Sport GT badges on front pillars
Black chromed grille
Red highlights on Trident badge
Carbon-fibre interior trim
Sports steering wheel
Aluminium pedals
Sport button to cut gear change times by 35% and stiffen the suspension.

The 2008 brochure shows the list price (excluding any extras) as:
Auto - £77,110.
Auto Sport GT - £83,310.
(Both including road fund licence, registration fee, delivery to dealer and three year service package.)

On the car for sale here the alloys have been changed for the later ones from the facelift QP.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Ewan - I can confirm the car has all the features you mention with the flappy paddles although you can also use manual mode on gearstick. The red highlights on trident badge have faded somewhat . And yes the alloys are I think not the originals since I have seen a few pics of other sport gts and these are definitely later versions . It has aluminium sport pedals and the sport button but I don’t notice any difference in suspension being stiffer since I always drive it in sport mode . The brake discs are indeed cross drilled .
Thanks for the assistance - I think that clears it up .

I've got the same model with all the same features except piano black interior trim. Mine was registered in Dec 07, so likely was on the production line at the same time as @Dandydons. Eb - you've parked next to it at Villa Scalabrini!!
Looks like a lovely car at a great price - GLWTS

As Bebs has said an absolute Bargain as on this side of the Channel it would be a Good buy at €25,000
Things are a bit different in the UK post brexit though! Not really a relevant comparison. Look at the price of old Boxsters in the UK vs Europe

Cars were always more expensive over here in my experience and have bought a few this side of the Channel since moving to France in 2018.
My Boxster 987 is worth more than double than in the UK here.

Old Boxster must be the best sports car you can buy for under 5k. They cannot stay that low for ever as they are brilliant little cars. 5 to 6k can get a really good example these days.
