Quattroporte V door mirror replacement

Hi guys. Has anyone replaced their door mirror glass? Looking how to do it on my 06 Quattroporte, the glass is unbroken, but has gone gold & has leaked the liquid (oil?). I Can get the glass from EuroSpares for £80.00 ish, but need the method of removal!

Flat plate knife under the bottom of the glass and leaver off the retaining ring.

Put some tape over it to stop it flicking out into your face of ending up broken on the floor.
