He was a semi famous composer and pianist who shared his name with a very well known composer.
This is a good one, I know that there were 3 Composers called Strauss but I'm trying hard to think of another pair with the same surname, I'm assuming it is a common surname?

Didnt one of the great composers die as a result of botched surgery. As to who and when i cant remember and it might not even be related to the question.

John Taylor or Chevalier John Taylor has ha liked to be know was an eye surgeon who specialised in curing cataracts. Well cure might be a bit ambitious as he used a process whereby he attempted to push the cataract to the side of the eye and hence improve vision.

This was not a great technique and his cleanliness was not what it should have been which led to a poor success rate but his biggest failures were with two classical composers. John Taylor succeeded in blinding both Handel and JS Bach in fact Bach subsequently died of post operative infection.
