The side question. The bird is called a manakin bird. Worth watching on youtube if you have not seen its dance routine either.

Can't take it, its the Halifax Gibbet and was used in Halifax England 1280 through 1680, so Halifax England.

Are we talking oldest country flag still in use or just the oldest country flag. I would guess possibly Sweden.

I seem to remember reading that the Welsh have been using the symbol of the dragon since Roman times so is it Wales?

Most flag designs change over the years so i assume we are talking same design still in use. I know Norways for example is an old flag in essence but the current variation is 1900's sometime.

How about the Union Flag/Jack? It's got to be as old as those pesky Vikings, Danes and Swedes.

Danish flag might be a good call Benny. I'm fairly sure its older than the Union flag. The current version is only a couple of hundred years old.
