A QP and afternoon naps? The game's over for you mate! ;)

No kidding - if I don't get my morning and afternoon naps, it means I can't enjoy my Ovaltine and malted biscuits come bed time. About 20 past four... :D

Look up polyphasic sleep patterns - it's 'more efficient' than the traditional monophasic (8 hours per night) deal that most people use. You can get much more done if you sleep more often ;)

That's probably true as long as you don't have 8 hours at night and another 8 during the day!

Off to Dublin tomorrow so i best give you the answer.

Everything you read is not fact was a clue to Pulp Fiction

The question relates to the belief that all the clocks in Pulp Fiction are set at 4:20 which is as some of you in the know realised is significant in cannabis culture. Actually although most of the clocks are set to 4:20 there a few that can be seen at different times. So the fact that most film buffs think the 4:20 time is correct it is just another urban myth - now I call that special ;)

Maybe I need to get out more :(

Well, everyday's a school day - thanks for that. I've seen Pulp Fiction probably dozens of times and never noticed that

Set a new question if you want Zagatoes and PM me the answer and i will keep an eye on the thread and give clues as necessary. Either that or nominate somebody to set the next question.

Ok i shall set you off with an easy one. Mcvities famously went to court in a landmark case that decided if VAT is payable on jaffa cakes. Hmrc argued they were biscuits and subject to VAT. Mcvities argued they were cakes and excempt from VAT.

Mcvities won the case and as a result Jaffa cakes are VAT free.

What was the deciding factor that made the judge rule they were cakes and not biscuits ?

For a bonus point. What is the main ingredient of the tangy orange jelly in a jaffa cake ?

Biscuits go soft when they get stale, cakes go hard.

and I'm going with apricots

C

Full marks all round. Jaffa cakes go hard when they go stale. The tangy orange is made of apricot pulp with a dash of tangerine oil to flavour.

The ruling is a little more complicated than people may think. Both biscuits and cakes are both VAT free. If a biscuit is chocolate covered its falls under luxury goods. Chocolate covered cakes don't fall under luxury goods.

If you want a really stupid VAT ruling. Ginger bread men with chocolate eyes are VAT free. However if they have chocolate dipped feet or clothing then they are subject to VAT as luxury goods. Thats probably another useless bit of information that you wish i hadn't told you ! ;)

Your question then Catman2
