Correct.

The lowest land that is not covered by the ocean is in Antarctica.

The Bentley Subglacial Trench in Antarctica reaches approx 2600 meters below sea level at the bottom of a huge valley, and is covered by a vast glacier (Byrd glacier).

I think 48 is about right, Hawaii & Alaska were around 1960 I think.

I think the previous ones were New Mexico and maybe Arizona?

Going off the the two previous state added you mentioned. It possibly 46 and the 48 in 1912 then.

Yes, Arizona & New Mexico added in 1912 to take it from 46 to 48. Alaska & Hawaii were added in 1959
