Wow!! I didn't know they powered the Spruce Goose, that was one monster of a sea plane!!

Spruce Goose was made mainly from birch rather than spruce. Another useless fact i picked up from somewhere.

I dont think we have had a vampyrebat question yet. Its probably going to be about abba or the pet shop boys ! :)

Your question Stuart.

Haha..........I can see I'm not going to live that one down for a while!!;)

Ok; What is the worlds smallest Bird of Prey and what is the worlds largest bird of prey?? (excluding Vultures as they are lazy ba5tards and wait for things to die rather than kill them)

So Vultures and, I assume Condors (also lazy barstewards), are out.

When you say smallest / largest are we basing this on wingspan, weight or something else?

I know the UK smallest is the Merlin, so I would assume it's smaller than that. ( Blackbird sized.) No idea about biggest, though surely the Americans will claim theirs is? ;)

Yes, as impressive as Condors are they are still lazy ba5tards so they are out. Smallest/largest would be height (and probably wingspan)

Yep! the Merlin is GB's smallest Bird of Prey, it is smaller but you are in the right family of B of P and the biggest can be found in the Americas but it's not Bald!!

So you don't want flycatcher either ;)

I would suggest the largest must be one of the eagles, so either the Philippine Eagle or the Sea Eagle, smallest probably a Falcon like the Merlin, I think there is an African Pygmy Falcon so that could be a contender

Your in the right family on both accounts Andy............the Eagle has a crest on it's head and sounds like a stringed instrument and the Falcon may have dark upper legs!!

Ermm, you must be referring to the Harpy Eagle which although large is a forest dweller and hence I would have thought it would have a shorter wingspan / length compared to the Sea Eagle. However as it feeds on larger prey it is probably heavier which was partly why I asked for clarification the word largest

Yes! Correct; in mass it is the largest, wingspan you maybe right as it hangs around tropical rainforests..........The smallest is the Black-thighed Falconet at 14-16cm tall!

As space is in the news today, how many people have travelled into space?

And for clarification how many have reached Earth Orbit.
