As well as helping handling, lowering does make a Maser coupe look more purposeful. I'm really surprised more people don't have it done. Maybe it's the chavvy image associated with lowering.
My GS is 40mm lower than a stock 4200 - sounds a lot but it doesn't make the car look odd. If you ask me the standard 4200 looks odd riding so high!

also your GS is lowered 30mm more than a standard GS? i cant believe the GS is only lowered 10mm over the standard 4200.

I know what you mean about lowering Pat...some are put of because of as you say the imagine of lowering but my M5 is on BC Racing Coilovers and I would never change it back.Transformed the handling. Looking at the side profile pic I to can not understand how it doesn't appeal to more.

Just found out from **** Lovett that all the mods are still on my car. This is good news - I had thought that they were going to remove them as part of the sales prep.

So if I the car doesn't sell and I take it back, then it will still be as quick as before :)

All that has been changed is the ride height.

Did the drive by wire module really make much difference? Seems a lot of money for what sounds like a sprint booster http://www.sprint-booster.co.uk/

Could be the same technology - and yes it was expensive - but it does make a big difference. Keep it mind that it also speeds up the CC changes too, which for me was the big win.

It's actually quite horrible to go back to the stock behaviour when you have got used to the DBW enhancement.

Was going to say MS that when I say it I thought the Mods had been tken off but that would explain as the car looked like it was sitting standard. Will they sell it with the other mods then as I thought they could warrenty it with them on.

Hi Trystehouse and welcome. What an intriguing post! What other cars do you have if you don't mind me asking? Sorry, no excuses, just being blatantly nosey! :)

Welcome Trystehouse....I'm sure MS would do a deal away from DL as he has mentioned on her before he would. As above would love to hear about your other Maserati and experiences.

Hi Emtee, Andy

DL will need to remove the FD ECM as they cannot warranty the car with a separate engine management module. But they would be prepared to leave the DBW module on.

Unless instructed otherwise by a potential buyer, I will have both FD modules removed before sale and I will resell them separately (or potentially use them for my next maser purchase after a little more tweaking from Jeff).

MS what are your looking for next?

Not sure, can't make up my mind. Could be a QP, could be a GT. I did think about a classic for a while, but - having had so few problems with the GS - I'd be reluctant to return to the more problematic eras for Maserati.

Having bought the GS very nearly new (ex-demo), I would like to do the same again but Maserati's new pricing policy is making it hard.

What irritates me most is that you can get cars which are as good if not better than a new Maser for a lot less money (cf. M3, C63AMG). Whilst I don't especially hanker after one of these, I know they carry the latest manufacturer technology whilst the current crop of Masers are largely dependent on technology and base platforms that were developed quite a few years ago. In short, if I paid 90K for a new Maser, part of me would feel a little ripped off considering what I got last time round for around 40K less. In any event, 60-70K is my absolute top budget for the moment (may change next year).

Confused of Portishead.

MS, I too considered going classic for my next Maser, Bora infact, but I think your comments about the GS and problematic eras of Maserati rings true and has made me dismiss this. I will sell spring next year and as I will have a 3 year old Alfa GT, will bide my time. My head says GT 4.2, but my heart says GTS.

As pointed out on here several times, the GT will become the 4200 and the GTS the GranSport, so with that in mind am prepared to hand it out for a GTS when they hit say mid £40's, maybe £50k at a push.

Looking online, you can get a GT for £50k and a GTS for £67k which is nearly £20k above my budget, so it is looking like I am going to be 18 months without a Maser, sniff.

On PH, there are 90 for sale at present, so would assume its a buyers market.

I understand what you both mean Gt prices seem to go against the Market 50k is a little high for a 07 plate should be about 40k by now. As usual we want them to fall in price until we own one then hold their values for ever!
