This is about pointless government introduced toothless and pointless qualifications.
Today I had to sit my Managers and Proffesional Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) test, took 10 minutes - out of the 45 allowed, required a couple of hours revision on a downloaded app for £6 and a fee of £19. So after completing in English out of the 20 or so languages available I call up for my new card which allows me to manage a construction site, something I have been doing for several years (20!)

The very nice lady on the phone then points out that unread a proffesional qualification, like a degree or NVQ -"A fookin' NV fookin Q! They didn't exist when I was an apprentice! I have an HND though"

Great just send us the certificate

What from 1990?

Erm - yes

Well I have no idea where the certificate is?

Well you can't have a card then - your sacked!

So the job I have been doing for years - I can't do on Monday because the card I did have had run out, I can't find a certificate for an exam I took nearly 30 years ago.

Well sir this is the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme - you can't find a certificate - therefore no card!

W4ankers

The sort of scheme that the dip sh*ts as Sergon (formerly Cunningham Lindsey Surveying Services) would rely on. The fool that turned up at my Father's had all manner of qualifications, no doubt purchased at Poundland, when there was a sale on, yet he was a fu**ing idiot. Difficult to know where to begin so I won't even bother. A simple example though was claiming a water meter wouldn't have determined the quantity of water lost after he'd left a stop cock open. He was asked, if not for determining usage, what else does a fu*cking water meter do. Wa**er. Needless to say he was kicked off the job. Not for being an arrogant A-hole but for being incompetent. I won't bore anyone with further examples - they didn't get their full fee paid though!

"Honestly grown" food... I can see that one could sell it dishonestly, filling processed meat with salt and water, calling horsemeat something else, selling battery eggs as free-range, but how do you grow it dishonestly? Stretch the carrots? Pump up the pumpkins?

I suppose that the weed farmers in rental houses steal the electricity and are not growing a legal crop but they don't advertise it as "honestly grown"....

Main dealers trying it on, with lines such as "you know xyz part is known to fail on these cars".

My response, "not if you are careful they don't".

The result, no extra cost to me. Quite right too! Cheeky feckers!

That upsets me aswel as my parents are looking to move and not one agent has heard their priorities, MUST HAVE A DRIVE!!
They send stuff over with no parking etc.....

I dont waste my time but some feel its a numbers game and if they show 100 people that house one of them will like it......

I just sold some fiat 500 wheels to a guy , he was supposed to come yesterday at 4pm but rang at 10am to say he'd had to take a kitten to the vet so wouldn't be able to make it so could I do today at 1pm

I met him 15 miles away to save him some time , wheels were on the car a month20170227_075648.jpg

He went over them like they were a vital component on a mission to Mars not going on a base model 9 year old fiat 500 then says I think I'm going to leave it and points to this

Had similar issues selling wheels in the past, one bloke came for a rare set of VW Madras split rim wheels. One of the bolts looked like it was at a slight angle so he walked away. Lucky for me really as I had advertised them at £200 the set before I know their true value the second guy took them for £500 no questions asked :)

The thing that's annoyed me the most is I had 2 offers but he wanted to collect with cash , I only put them on ebay because I had a £3 max fees offer so now they're back on if they sell the fees will be £80

Middle lane hoggers. Particularly the **** in a Silver Astra on the M74 this afternoon, who, on refusing to move from the middle lane to the empty inside one, almost caused an accident when the outside lane was closed on a section of the road.

Abide by the Highway Code you *****!

Why do you always get a puncture the day after a service? Still the compressor worked to get enough air in it to hold getting to work and try and arrange for a fix. Haven't gunked the tyre yet so here's hoping its repairable.

More ranting this time at the rain, or rather the affect it seems to have on the rest of the drivers on the road. Where does the traffic come from when it rains. My trip to the office is normally a breeze. I leave at about the same time every day and have no real queues even at the traffic lights I need to cross.

Today its raining. Massive queues everywhere. Why? Do people think "oh its raining I'd better set of earlier just in case"? Then they decide that they need to brake heavily to 30 for that corner that they normally take at 50. Isn't the hard braking more of a risk? What's even more puzzling is that the car parks I can see from the office are more empty than usual at this time. So where do they go?

When the hotel restaurant gives you coffee with your breakfast when you asked for tea.

I was nearly sick!

Don't you know the wet weather rule? "Rain causes spray which reduced visibility. This is unsafe, so you need to place your vehicle where you can see other traffic - that is right up the ar5e of the vehicle immediately in front of you so that you don't have enough spray to obscure it from view and you'll be able to see the brake lights... when your face hits them!"

My current phone bugbear are the recruitment companies that constantly call even though I've told them I'm no longer looking for anything. Just make a note on your system and don't call again.

Either that or the ones that send me emails for junior roles at ridiculously low rate.

Speed cameras.

Particularly ones hidden in a tree on the way out of Newcastle just before the 40mph sign! F*ckers!
