Rear bumper mesh grill

Well i found the front mesh grill for my 06 coupe over ur way now id like to find the rear. Does anyone have chrome mesh grill for a 05/06 car

Hi Lorenz,
I have never seen a chromed rear mesh, are you sure they do them? You could always strip off the paint on the standard grille, that could work..!!

The mesh on the rear is the same as the front on the GS. I know first hand cuz my GS front and rear was chrome. I took the mesh off the rear last night and i found that it seems to be powdercoated and also the mesh is made of stainless. The chrome shops are telling me stainless cannot be chromed. They say that if its a good grade stainless then its a 50/50 chance it can be chromed. The other options are to powder coat it silver or paint it and seal it. So id really like to find a rear set already done. How the factory did it im not sure unless they used a different steel then chromed it. If anyone has a chromed set pm me please.

Mine present one is chromed rear mesh , i even replaced the chromed mesh on the gransport rear bumper on my 4200 , aswell as the two little side mesh vents

Loz, how did u replace your rear mesh. Were u able to buy new or did u find a used set

Are these actually chromed, or polished stainless steel. S/S looks like chrome if it's in decent condition..??

I cant imagine it being polished with the beating it would take on the front grill. It would be alomost impossible to keep it nice. Well i dont have one to look at but IM 99% sure its chrome,,,

It's just that chrome could start to rust in the nooks and crannies, but S/S does not, it would only tarnish very slightly and that would scrub off.

well it could but i still swear my GS was chrome grills,,also if you look at ricambi site it states a Chromate net for the Gransport. Problem is its part of the bumper and you cant buy just the mesh grill

Just do what the factory do and what i did , make up a template and cut your own mesh , i managed to buy virtually identical mesh from an online whiolesaler then two pack them in with self made clips took me less than half an hour

Hey guys, i found a guy who said he can chrome plate the rear mesh grill even tho its made of stainless and its a little harder to plate. So i decided to give it a try. I removed the grills and sent them out and it came back factory new. The guy did a fantastic job. Heres some pics

Kudos and credit Lorenz , i would have removed the whole rear bumper for access , and left the exhaust boxes and pipes in place , does look shiny tho lets hope its stays on there and doesn't start peeling off , on the plus side your weather is so much warmer than ours too

Oh the chrome is great. Its on there. Im not worried about it coming off at all. My mufflers already were off for other reasons. Im trying to get some sound from my exhaust and have been experimenting. Im looking for some fabspeed decat pipes, an x pipe and mufflers for my 4200. If someone has something laying around let me know, thanks
