Remote keys not working 2004 GranSport

Hello you wonderful bunch of people. I'll try to cut a long story short. My GS remote keys are not working so I cannot unlock the car. 1 remote worked fine, the other did not. I bought new batteries for the second remote and it appears none of them are working. The red radio light is flashing so I don't think it is the battery as it is relatively new. I have a few questions:
1. What could the fault be and does anyone know the battery set up in the remote (just in case they are wrong) but I have tried most combinations
2. If I open the car manually, will this set off the alarm? If so, do i put the key in the ignition to turn of the alarm?
2.1. Does locking and opening the car manually with the key deactivate the alarm?
3. Any help would be hugely appreciated but as you can see from the above, I am not that much technically minded.

Thanks again guys...

The battery goes in with the positive visible as attached. If they have stopped working you might have a issue with the micro switches breaking (the two buttons in the centre of the second picture). These can be resoldered or replaced if they have come adrift.

To be clear, are neither of your keys working to unlock the car? If so, you've either got a physical issue (flat batteries in the remotes, or, as Zep suggested, broken switches).

If you have a working one, then we can tell you the re-coding process assuming, if the double click that saifalrashid suggested didn't work.

Let's start from the beginning :)

(but yes, if you open the manually, you will set off the alarm. Using the key does not affect the arming or disarming of the alarm)

I have a bag of buttons if you want to do some home soldering. FOC to members.

The remote buttons are the red ones in Zep’s image above.

If its a remote alarm/unlocking issue then suggest you contact ABACUS CAR ALARMS for further advice. Really helpful. Best of luck!

I don't expect it is your problem but mine suddenly required me to stand against the car to work. Found the aerial wire on the alarm had broken. Once repaired all was well again.

Sounds silly but is your car battery alright?

I recently noticed my key had recently been a bit temperamental. I had been having battery problems so changed that and the keys now both work beautifully again.
