Road trip Bilbao to Marbella in the Alfa 8c

Just returned from a week in Spain driving 1000 miles in the 8c spider. There were 26 others on the tour. Mixture of ferrrari, astons and Porsche mainly. No mazzers
The roads in northern Spain are incredible. No traffic or police and you can see for miles. A guy in a Nissan GTR claimed to do 160mph which I can believe given the speed he overtook. All cars made it to Marbella without any issues and no speeding tickets. The 8c was perfect (except the lack of boot space) although the back end did wag a lot towards the end as the roads seem to be slippy in the South. The highlight was lunch in a bull ring where we arranged the cars around the edge.
The 8c is also the best bug killer on the road...

Very nice - I was planning to photograph an unfortunate dragonfly immolated on the grille of the GS on our last N Spain trip, but when we had checked in to the hotel and I returned to the car it was clear that the birds are savvy to this variant of a BBQ and had picked all the nicest insects off - now I realise that they do the same in the UK.

Looks a great trip and great to see an 8c being used as opposed to sitting in air conditioned isolation.

I was in Northern Spain last year and can confirm the roads from Bilbao to Logroño are absolutely awesome.
Wide, fast with long sweeping corners.

Would love to drive them one day. Unfortunately I travelled them in a coach.......

I asked but the organiser won't give me the route. We had sheets each day which were collected. It was like a treasure hunt where you had to visit places based on clues. Made it interesting

Looks as if your trip was as much fun as mine - except it cost around £180,000 extra!
