Roof Not Quiet Closing?

Occasionally the roof seemed to be restricted from closing sometimes with a slight noise like forcing it to close.
It appeared the second rail at the front was not being pulled fully back when closing. So light bulb momment £1.45p elastic 1in wide. Tied to the rail and backwards to the next with slight tension and tie the 2 together. Amazing roof closes perfectly no noise elastic just enough tension to pull raill backwards. All for £1.45p not a bad deal no doubt if i had gone to the "garage" may have needed a new roof lol petronic

Had lots of elastic on the MK1 Golf convertible and after time they went brittle...despite their somewhat small function they really had a purpose in making the roof fold correctly...but they were a b u g g e r to fit.
