You can buy it from a Main dealer for about £350, it will only update the maps and apparently will give you 4 digit posts.

I have tried very hard to find an alternative cheaper source for my 2010 QP without success, so if you find one then please let me know?

£350... crikey you can buy a much better Sat nav unit for half that.

I use my phone and Google maps/nav now on all cars as the live traffic/updates is much better than any in car Sat nav I've used.

Why are in car Sat navs often so bad?

Because they are trying to build what is effectively throwaway tech into a durable item. the design / production / use phase is way way longer than that of the smart phone based devices.

Most car systems were probably cutting edge, when the design was finalised

Oh man...
Been told 2004 discs are no longer available due to Maserati upgrading model spec from 2007 onwards and firmware is totally new from then. So unfortunately no disc at MD. they pointed me to a company called NavTeq who apparently made the original discs for 2004 QP. But I can't seem to find a contact number.

Navteq was acquired by Nokia and is now rebranded as “Here” (stupid name). http://www.navigation.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/Navteq-NavteqEurope-Site/-/-/-/Default-Start
Stupid website too: don’t click on the logos which gets you to nothing to do with navigation, but use the blue drop down menus on the left. Looks like they still have upgrades for 2004 Coupe models (I'd bet same as 2004 QP) but maybe not up to date? Might be worth an e mail to them if you want to keep original unit but as others have said they are way out of date compared to portable devices now. Or you can get an AA Road Atlas for 3.99 :)

I have managed to 'acquire' the latest (2010) version for my 2003 4200CC, if anyone would like to 'borrow' them, drop me a line. I have no issue with the SatNav it's a little clunky and doesn't update like google maps does on my mobile phone but it you want to see where you are in the world rather than the lat and long just drop me a PM.

Hi Martin, would love to borrow that if you wouldn't mind, I'll PM you and naturally cover any of your costs and more.

Thanks, for that I am not sure if it will work with the 2010 QP Bose System, so have sent them an email. I'll update if it does.

It seems unlikely. Pretty sure they are different systems. I can't see it working with both.

Do let us know what they say, though?

I emailed the satnavdiscsale.com guy also asking if they had an update for the QP. Reply was no...the search continues
