They certainly degrade, which amounts to the same thing. I have the same problem in my BMW - it has 'lost' parts of the country!

:) It has lost big chunks of the A1 and M1, but herself reports it knows the road southbound, just not northbound. Go figure...

If a disk has scratched or damaged it will happen. when I had a computer repair business we had a disk polisher as the data is under clear part of the disk the data is undamaged but laser can not read due to the scratch. Google CD polishers DR disk for a hand held machine. The one we had was very very good and would sort most damage.

You can pick up discs for BMs with 7 digit post codes for about £15. I've got a couple and they work well. Try e-bay or the BM magazine.

The Maserati Sat Nav /radio screens on my 4200 & QP were perfect! Perfect for sticking my TomTom sat nav cradle to. That's about all they're good for.

Have you used BM discs in the 4200 Benny ? If so do you happen to know which disc is compatiable ?

Couldn't even get my TomTom to stick to the screen! At the moment it gets stuck to the bottom right hand corner of the windscreen and the power loops over the top of the steering wheel and plugs into the cigarette lighter. Must get a wire with a USB end to try and power it from the LapLink which is tucked under the steering wheel where the CD changer was.
