Hi All,
Just joined this forum in the hope that someone may have, or know of, a nice 3200 manual coming up for sale. I know how good these forum's can be for maintenance advice and banter so, on the basis a 3200 "may" have issues from time to time, I'd expect to be a regular thread contributor!
I test drove an X reg 3200 way back in 2003 and have hankered after one ever since but always gone for a financially safer option. Until now. Appreciate that autobox offers a less frenetic driving experience and a 4200 is considered more reliable but I like a manual box and the boomerang lights etc. Plan is to run it for a year or two as a second car and then move up to a Granturismo S when finances allow.
Ideally I'd like a 2001/2 car with the improved build quality but assume most of the shortcomings of earlier cars have been sorted by now (contactless throttle body upgrades etc.)? Condition and a comprehensive maintenance history more important for me than mileage and colour, but with a mileage low enough not to hamper resale. If a car is approaching 60k miles I'd rather buy one with 70k miles and the big timing chain service having been completed. I know I said colour not important, but do like blue, green or red with tan trim.
Looking for a fully sorted car, as I don't have the time for a project, that I can enjoy now and deal with future maintenance needs as they arise. I'm lucky in that Giallo in Tonbridge are not far from me, who I believe have a good reputation for servicing and repairs.
The silver car Richard Grace has would fit the bill nicely, but my budget is limited to the equivalent car at a private sale price! I'm happy to wait as long as needed for the right car, as it wont get used that much in the depths of winter, but at the same time I WANT ONE!
Pete
