Self levelling headlights QpV

Just had a warning pop up saying that the self levelling headlights have failed. Already removed the battery the see if the fault goes away but it doesn't. Going to try to clean the sensors and contacts. Does anyone know where the sensors are located? Anyone with a prior experience or a wiring diagram ?

really? That's incredible; to think that there's that level of self diagnostics and indication available!

what are you driving? It's got to be very recent...

classically the sensors are on the rear suspension arms, inboard as the meet the chassis.

I had an issue with this on my 4200.

The sensors are not much and fit on the front [lift] and rear [load] suspension arms. They are flimsy plastic units and due to being under the car they get full of grime and muck so soon jam.

It's a quattroporte v 2004.

Thanks. I hope it's a simple contact problem. Else it's off to the dealer.

Quick update. Here is what pops up on the screen.

And the rest are the pictures of the sensors on the front and rear control arms. I unpluged them and sprayed then with a contact cleaner and reinstalled.

Cleaning the sensors seemed to have worked to a small degree. In the morning when I first start the car, the warning is off. But after driving for 10 minutes it comes back on. I am looking to clean the control module next.

Before I go ripping out the carpets, does any one know where the module is located?

Have you tried removing them from the suspension arms and checked for free movement?

Have you checked the adjuster motors on the Headlights to see if that is the fault?

I had this on my 607 and found it was the cogs on the motor that had worn out and stopped it going up and down.

I am facing this issue on my QPV. Question - is it 'easy' to get to the sensor or best to take it somewhere? I tried clearing the code with my ODB with no success.

On my 2007 QPV it was the plastic rod on the back of the headlight that had popped out. I removed the headlight, refitted the plastic rod and all works fine again.
