You say that Geoff, but apparently every time you drive it, it goes up in value! I paid significantly less for this very car about two years ago. It's now done more miles and has gone up.
It's a truely lovely thing in outstanding condition.
The only downside, and the reason why I sold it, is that it grounds out everywhere. Any spirited drive down undulating country roads results in horrible noises and a dented exhaust. And forget attempting speed humps or steep driveways. But to own just to look at, or take on flat roads or tracks, it's fantastic.
Would I have it back? Yes. In a heartbeat. But at £99k, no thanks.
This appears to be an example of asking a new, highest ever price, and seeing if it works. And who knows, it might. No harm in asking. As the saying goes, "find another".
You guys know NOTHING about grounding-out!
I have 55mm of clearance under my catalyst!!
When I first got the car, it was 35mm. I tried at a recent service to get another 15mm, but apparently it isn't possible.
I know it must be- but I think I'll have to be having a specially fabricated mid section made to fit.
HOWEVER-
Back to topic: does anybody know the whereabouts of the Orange Shamal? It was for sale some years ago in the UK and I have never seen pictures of it again...
Lost 10mm into the hub carrier? Hmm- I'm not sure how I'd tell if that had happened. I often have the wheels off for an internal clean, so I'm quite familiar with that area, but I'll have to have a look and see if they've slipped down.
There's two bolts across the rear of the hub carrier for the shock isn't there..?
Wow, just wow!
Surely it can't be long until similar cars go up to even a quarter of that value. I'm thinking Ghibli's, Karif, BiTurbo Spyder, even 3200's...
