Mine arrived today and Elliott has kindly given me his infield pass so I'll be seeing you all there on the Sunday. Not sure in which Maserati yet, but I'm hoping to have a new acquisition ready.

Spoke to Silverstone today as I only received my VIP parking and directions on how to collect my Parc Ferme tickets. I told them I had also booked for the infield parking to be part of the Maserati centenary and lap on the Sunday. Apparently, by booking tickets for the Podium and Parc Ferme, it cancelled my booking for the infield parking. Result: I can't take part in the Maserati lap!!!!!!!!!! I'm stunned. I thought I would treat myself by booking these special tickets, only to be deprived of the major reason for going. I'm so angry!!!!!!!
Any ideas?

Other than causing harm to the Silverstone computer system...

I'm sure you will find a seat in someone's car...

Hmmm, think I feel a thread coming on here...

Very sorry to hear that Merrian, how about some extended complaining on the phone to Silverstone ticketing, demanding to know how and when they will be correcting their error. It's only a piece of paper...

Hi Merrian, is the VIP parking on the inside of the circuit? If so there's a way to get you included in the parade lap.

Merrian,
If you have proof of payment and did not cancel this yourself, then you have good grounds to give them a right rocket on the phone and get your tickets back..!!

Dave,

Edwin intends that we ALL end up on the track, it's certainly not a first come first served arrangement.

Hi Dave, yes good thanks, and you I hope?

The plan is that all cars that are registered and parked in the club display area, along with the race cars and 'specials' parked in the paddock will be included on track. Don't forget to complete and hand in the registration form, but once done, all should be fine. My only word of warning is that we'll need to be back at the cars in good time, and there will be lots of hanging around as we're marshalled onto the circuit.

Here's a reminder of the general requirements for the event, and for the Sunday in particular.

"I need you all to arrive between 08.00 and 10.00 each day, but, the earlier the better as there are always long queues, the gates open at 07.30. On arrival please check-in at the clubs small hospitality rig.

When you arrive please be patient with Silverstone marshals who will advise you which way to go, when you get to the infield there will be Maserati Club members with BLUE hi-viz vests to Marshal you into position. The aim is to have all the same models together.

Please be understanding and patient with the club volunteers as we get you parked/lined up in the display.

Sunday Lunch Time Silverstone marshals will direct you for the “100 Maserati Track Parade” . Do be at you car by 11.30 for the parade as we will be moving off at 11.45.

There will be a Night Watchman employed by the club as well as the Silverstone Security to keep a watchful eye any cars left over night.

Cars are not allowed to move or leave the infield between 10.00 and 5.00 (17.00 hours). Health and Safety.

All cars/bikes can be removed from 5.00pm Sunday, but, must be removed by Monday morning at the very latest."

You'll get in with no problem on Friday. I strongly suggest an early arrival on Saturday & on Sunday too. I well remember getting stuck in the Saturday morning queue one year. It was the year of the e-type celebrations. The day was hot and the verge of road to the circuit was littered with overheated Jags.

Oh how I laughed.....until my Hawk boiled up and joined them :)

'Old'
I think it's a basic HD model. Second hand from the bay of e, with a case. A bit battered, but whatever. Bought an SD card for about £15 (which will fit all my other cameras) and a screen mount for a fiver.

The mount needed a small washer in the works to enable it to clamp properly, but well worth the £35 saving from a branded unit I feel.

Rather a lot cheaper than new, and comparable price to anything anyone else on line had recommended. With rather better video quality than I'd seen.

After today's trial, 30 minutes takes about 4G. I have a 32G SD card so I should be good for lots of stuff :)
