The 355 and, to a lesser extent, the 348 have a very 'revvy' F1 sound. Lots of people like it but, having driven behind several, I find them pretty one dimensional with too much at the high end of the spectrum. I think the narrow bore tailpipes Ferrari generally use may have something to do with it. Maserati, with the cross plane crank, has plenty of base, lots of mid range and a fair bit at the top end and, to me, is a far more interesting sound.
