Or a screwdriver to the ear.....seriously? You learn some stuff on here.It really depends on the noise and where it is coming from to be honest. Probably a good idea to go over it with a automotive stethoscope (or a screw driver to the ear) and see where it is emanating from...
Make sure you have it the correct way round!!!Or a screwdriver to the ear.....seriously? You learn some stuff on here.
I’ll try that the next time the little un comes down with a chest complaint- will save the doctor’s visit.
Yeah I’d be screwed otherwise.Make sure you have it the correct way round!!!

I'm having an issue as well with a ticking noise between ''2.5 to 3k RPM only''...... A month ago I was checking the oil level then opened the oil fill cap on the rocker cover while the engine was running, little did I know the engine was a sealed crankcase under a vacuum while running. I'm not sure if it sucked in too much air which created an air pocket in the lifter that created the ticking noise. As the temperature gets colder outside the noise got worse. After a long run today I decided to open the oil fill cap again to listen inside. I also installed a mic and took the car for a spin to record the sound......NOTHING !! No noise between 2.5 to 3K RPM..... Im assuming by opening the oil fill cap again did something. I will take the car for a run again tomorrow and listen.
