SM Black Forest Run

So the usual Sm group set off on their Autumn Euro trip on Wednesday.

It’s a short hop this year of only 5 days taking in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and The Black Forest in Germany.

9 cars and 15 people, I’ll post updates here for any that are interested to follow.

Team Schwarzwald, have a great trip. I'll be at the Stuttgart beer festival from late Thursday until mostly-dead o'clock on Saturday. I'll listen out for you. Look out for a dead or dying English guy in Lederhösen.

Day one, Dover to Trier

Didn’t start well if I’m honest, M26 shut, cows in the road, artic stranded at the junction before, Zeps car getting petulant when asked for the simple request to swap one gear for another and Annie broken down in Germany with Roary seemingly wanting some down time refusing to rev.

Thankfully the stars did eventually align and we all thumped it down the motorway

Trier is lovely, found an Italian and setup camp. German/Italian waiters did not fill us with confidence but the food was very good in the end.

Old faces and new faces all getting on well, we look forward to the first day of ‘twisties’

I was confused seeing today's update as I thought this initial post was 'set off last Wednesday, and now we're back' not 'will set off this Wednesday, and will be back next week'.

Trier looks nice. I shall be passing by at around 35k feet a little later today. If you're still there, by design or due to unexpected circumstances, then I shall wave.
