Hi Guys,

I have a 2 page 'fault list' drawn up by a trusted garage for my 2005 QP, some stuff I can do myself, others, I cant....

First is 2 dodgy Coil Packs, so the questions are;

1. Where are the Coil Packs located?
2. Where can I get replacement ones, either genuine or generic.

As far as I know a modern engine, the coil packs sit on top of the spark plugs, within the recess that the plugs go into. They alleviate the need for HT Leads. Yes you can get them, possibly from Eurospares, who will most likely supply Genuine parts for a reasonable price. Don't worry about the two pages, most mechanics in these places have OCD!

Perhaps pull one off and take to local motor factors and try to match up/check the part numbers.....doubtless much cheaper than the Maser branded ones

They are different lengths - short and long leads depending on location, so be sure to pull the correct ones for replacement. Oh and yes they are Bosch. 75 quid from Eurospares, so worth checking the Bosch equivalent with your local auto parts supplier.

Hi,

The front passenger side and the rear drivers side coils are weak I am told. I did notice,'front coils' and,' rear coils' mentioned on the Eurospares website so I presume that refers to lenght of lead. In that case, the coils come with a certain lenght of lead, finding a generic or other make with the correct lenght could be a problem?

So the coils are located on top of the spark plug?

I think I saw mentioned here the procudure for removing the spark plugs, I assume its just a 'nuts and bolts' job.

Answers make questions!

Yes, just nuts and bolts, so easy, but I see you have found the how to guides so that should keep you quiet for a while.

What else is on the list?
