Soft top problem

Hoping you may be able to help, tried to lower the roof today on my 2005 4200, rear screen section lifts but as the roof storage compartment lifts it does not seem to fully release just pops up 12mm or so and everything stops there. Tried banging it and levering it up all in a gentle fashion but no result.
Done a battery reset but no difference, not had this problem before so any ideas would be good thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Bang the lid with your fist hard (ala one potato, two potato) and give it another go.

Sounds like one of the micrswitches is not triggering so the sequence can't proceed.

Thanks for the tip, when outside singing one potato etc, pressed the button and you guessed it the bloody thing folded down. The ironic story of this was I spent all night in hospital nothing serious but when I escaped this morning I thought it will be nice getting in the Masa and driving home with the roof down. Yeh right not in this Italian lady
